Dear Colleagues:

Media registration is currently open for the Eighteenth Annual Transcatheter Cardiovascular Therapeutics (TCT) Scientific Symposium, sponsored by the Cardiovascular Research Foundation. TCT 2006 is scheduled to take place at the Washington Convention Center from Sunday, October 22nd to Friday, October 27th.

TCT is the world’s premier gathering where the latest trends, research findings, and techniques in interventional vascular medicine are disseminated to practicing physicians from around the world. The symposium will feature live procedures originating from 31 U.S. and international medical centers featuring world-renowned operators performing complex interventions. Cases will be presented with an interactive and thematic approach, rather than simply showcasing techniques or devices.

As a member of the media, you will have access to:

  • Streaming media and media resources
  • A Digital Media Library of graphics and video resources for broadcast purposes
  • Tutorials to familiarize yourself with the headlining procedures, experimental devices, and new therapies highlighted in this year's conference
  • TCT abstracts downloadable as .pdf files

Participants can elect to tailor their experience by choosing from three distinct clinical tracks: coronary, peripheral, and structural heart disease. Attendees will gain hands-on experience at the Physician Training Center and may participate in seminars that are structured to encourage extensive audience participation. The Physician Training Center will house several advanced learning programs including:

  • 3-D workstations for CT imaging
  • Expanded "Hands on Hearts" program (using 3-D imaging technology)
  • Hands-on medical simulation using a "virtual patient" with life-like physiologic responses and simulated data

Course highlights for TCT 2006 include:

  • Late-breaking clinical trials
  • Live case summaries focusing on patient history, data and overview to be posted on TCT2006.com
  • Over 500 abstracts representing the latest research in interventional vascular medicine
  • Interactive Operator Tutorial morning sessions using TCT live case dialogues, expert panel discussions
  • Winners of the "most challenging cases competition," with interactive question-and-answer sessions

TCT 2006 promises to be an exciting conference using the latest interactive technologies to present current research and demonstrate innovative techniques. To register, please contact:
