Renowned Artist Designs Career Achievement Award
TCT attendees may be familiar with the work of sculptor Akiva Huber. For the past five years, Huber has added a creative ambience to TCT through sculptures at his exhibit “The Art Comes From the Heart.” In addition, for the past three years, Huber designed and contributed the TCT Career Achievement Award. The award is a bronze sculpture shaped as a hollow heart called “The Heart of the Matter.” It represents professional achievements along with human emotion. A closer look at the sculpture reveals a male and a female figure around an apple.
Excellence in art
In the art world, Huber is well-recognized and showcases his work worldwide at galleries and art expos. Recently, his work “Escape from Sodom” earned third place for excellence at the sixth Annual Summer All Media International Art Exhibition and first place for excellence in the United States.
His personal and professional life takes shape through his artwork. He is a Chief Radiology Specialist of the
Division of Invasive Cardiology at Rambam Medical Center in Haifa, Israel. His upbringing is expressed through the curvature and style of his artwork. Huber was born in France following World War II to Holocaust survivors from Hungary and grew up in Israel.
Using bronze as a sculpture medium, he fashions human forms to introduce grace and beauty into the diversity of the human world, striving to depict the duality of life through his art. He also attempts to portray the dialogue between open space and structures.
Huber’s contributions and creative expression add an extra beat to the daily happenings of TCT.
